Italian Government seems to be waking up to crisis in Bologna.

It seems to me I'm not the only one trying to bring attention to what is happening in Italy right now.

My friend in Taiwan is at the annual TAITRA Show this year and he's basically telling us that most Asian manufacturers expect Italian scooter manufacturing to die within the next few years including all assembly of Piaggio Group. As you know many of the 50cc units are now assembled outside of Italy now.

The Democratic Party in Italy has called on the Government, banks, and parliamentary council today to take action in defense of the motorcycle industry. This is a good thing since by Monday we will know the fate of several of the remaining players in the Italian scene. How quickly they can move is yet to be seen.

One thing is certain it will take more than loans to make Italy a global player. It takes management that has experience and can see beyond what is happening in the region. Worldwide markets require management that has experience outside of Bologna.

Let's see what happens.
