Ducati placed second behind Apple as the most memorable product placement on 2010 for being involved in four major blockbusters; The Expendables, Takers, Wall Street 2 and Tron Legacy. Branding website brandchannel tracks product placement and brand appearances in successful films at the US box office for the past 10 years.
The most recognized brand continuous to be Coca Cola ( I once worked for them so I so love Coke ) from the Sahara to the Gobi dessert even in "El Chaco" in Bolovia the natives know the outline of the coke bottle. It's to the point where coke doesn't need product placement they just appear on 200 TV shows a day by accident. Now producers go out of their way to block any brand so they can make money on the back end, but coke continues to be the leader.
It's kind of like a car brand. You can't stop a Honda or a Toyota from being in the background, but a Ducati sometimes has to be written into the script.
Makes you wonder had Aprilia or Benelli had the vision to be first in product placement in the USA in the last decade the way Ducati has would they have ended up in the hands of Piaggio or QJ?
