The Motorcycle Industry Council is saying scooter sales are still up for the second quarter for 2011. Nowhere near the numbers of 2007 - 2008 and as I've reported before nowhere near reality because of the mainland importers who are 50% or more of US sales like Jonway, SUNL, Roketa who don't report.
Still this is a good step in the right direction. Many retailers are still struggling, but at least now there is hope after 12 quarters of a shriking dealer base more scooter stores are opening. Some companies that pulled out of the US market are also looking at coming back.....
If it continues 2012 could be the year the scooter industry makes a comeback.....
