Merchandising and Proper Displays for NEW STORES
This is a follow up video to the last blog.
A lot of new shop owners ask for advice so here is the best advice I can give them. Invest in the display, look, feel, and store experience. Don't complain if accessories don't fly off the shelf, they are not there to turnover all the time they are there for the experience.
An exhaust only sells as part of a rack. There are over 400 different exhausts in our system, but you can't sell any if you stock NONE. The problem is many stores refuse to stock any because they might not sell. Given that there are so many models on the market, you have to have some to sell any at all. This is basic math, you can't run the shop from a catalog if not the client will only buy online.
The future of retail in the USA involves a buying experience. Invest in small items you can hang behind the counter. Like chrome, CDIs, little pieces that add value to the experience.
At a retail in-store level, merchandising refers to the variety of products available for sale and the display of those products in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase.
